Share the screenshot, not your account number
Posting a screenshot to get help with an error, showing off a design, or filing a bug report? Drag rectangles over emails, names, addresses, tokens, or faces — choose solid blackout or pixelation — and download a copy with that information permanently removed.
Sharing a photo rather than a screenshot? Also run it through the EXIF remover to strip the hidden GPS location.
Frequently asked questions
Redacting a private screenshot by uploading it somewhere?
That would defeat the purpose — which is why this tool doesn't. The image is edited on a canvas in your browser and never transmitted. It works with your connection off.
Blackout or pixelate — which is safer?
Blackout destroys the covered pixels completely and is the safest choice for text like account numbers. Pixelation looks nicer for faces but heavily-pixelated text has occasionally been reconstructed — when in doubt, black it out.
Is the hidden content really gone in the download?
Yes. The redaction is burned into the exported pixels — it's not a layer that can be removed. That's safer than some PDF and screenshot annotation tools, where “covered” text has famously remained extractable underneath.
